Welcoming Hollie to Bodkin
We’re really happy to welcome Hollie to the team as a Graphic Designer at Bodkin.
Hollie first joined us for a three-month internship before Christmas, and it became clear pretty quickly that she was a great fit for the studio. She brings an exploratory, hands-on approach to design and has a way of balancing structure with experimentation that feels fresh, thoughtful and full of character.
What stood out early on was her love for alternative and experimental processes, alongside a real attention to storytelling in her work. She’s instinctive, curious and confident trying different routes when a project calls for it, which makes her a brilliant addition to the team. Her work often brings in subtle illustrative and hand-drawn qualities that add warmth and personality, while still feeling considered and resolved.
During her internship, she filled the studio with all sorts while working on a branding project, creating intricate leaf prints and bringing in armfuls of materials from outside. It felt like a very natural reflection of the way she works. There was always something interesting taking shape, with ink, fountain pens, sketches, prints and cyanotypes spread across the studio in the best possible way.
By the end of her internship, we knew we wanted to offer Hollie a full-time role, which she happily accepted. She also let us know that she was about to head off travelling for six weeks around Thailand, Bali and Vietnam. That trip quickly became three months, with Australia added to the list too.
She’s now finally back, and we’re very glad to have her here properly.
Welcome, Hollie.
